Embraer yesterday said it delivered a Legacy 600 executive jet to Dubai-based Titan Aviation. The aircraft was acquired by an unidentified customer, and will be managed and operated by Titan Aviation for private use of its owner, a statement said.

The Dubai-based company has another Legacy 600 in its fleet, since June 2008, and is scheduled to incorporate a Lineage 1000 jet in 2012.

"We are very proud to deliver this second Legacy 600 jet to Titan Aviation and strengthen our good relationship. We believe this new Legacy 600, managed by Titan, will provide the desired flexibility and convenience to its owner," said Colin Steven, Embraer Marketing and Sales, Europe, Africa and Middle East - Executive Jets.

Configured to accommodate 13 passengers in three distinct and comfortable cabin zones, this super midsize Legacy 600 jet is equipped with high-speed data (HSD), enabling customers to browse the internet, access e-mails, and transfer files during trips, thus providing a better use of time, increased work productivity, and more entertainment possibilities.

Titan pilots will have the Legacy 600 electronic flight bag (EFB) available, which provides precise aircraft performance calculations and electronic copies of manuals and charts, allowing reduced pilot workload and a paperless cockpit environment.

"We are pleased to take delivery of the second Legacy 600 from Embraer, on behalf of our clients. Our customers have been active flyers on the same type of aircraft for many years and, therefore, when the time came to acquire one, it was easy to decide on the model. The Legacy 600 jet gives excellent passenger comfort and the ideal range for our client's travel profile," said Capt Sakeer C Sheik, Managing Director of Titan Aviation.

"We are happy with the reliability of the aircraft and the support the owners have received from Embraer. The first Legacy 600 has gone as far as Mongolia, while performing very well, and when we wanted maintenance support from Embraer, they were always available to us. This type of service ensured that our dispatch reliability remained very high, compared to some other manufacturers," he added.

Steep approach capability will allow Titan to operate in such airports as London City (LCY), in the UK. The Legacy 600 is the largest business jet allowed to operate in Cannes Mandelieu Airport (CEQ), in France.

It has a maximum cruise speed of Mach 0.80, and its range of 3,250 nautical miles (6,019km) with eight passengers, or 3,400 nautical miles (6,297km) with four passengers, both with NBAA IFR fuel reserves, which means the jet can fly nonstop from London to Dubai; from Frankfurt (Germany) to Karachi (Pakistan); from Hamburg (Germany) to Delhi, India); from Delhi or Singapore to Tokyo (Japan); or from Shanghai (China) to Delhi.

More than 170 Legacy 600 jets are flying in 25 countries, with high rates of dispatch reliability and low operating costs, the statement said.
