MoE panel to review blacklisted universities case |

A specialist committee has been formed by the Ministry of Education (MoE) to review the conditions in recently-blacklisted universities in the Philippines and India where Kuwaiti students are studying. Education minister Dr. Moudhi Al-Humoud announced the formation of the committee to reporters following a meeting with Dr. Rasha Al-Sabah, the Undersecretary for Higher Education.
Dr. Al-Sabah, meanwhile, explained that the suspension of Kuwaiti students' registration at the external private universities blacklisted by the ministry had been carried out without any report by the ministry's specialist technical committee being commissioned. She said that the committee would include officials from the Civil Service Commission (CSC) and the board which officially endorses educational qualifications, as well as law professors from Kuwait University. The committee will also look into the
previous decision to blacklist certain universities, especially those in India and the Philippines.
Asked about the Kuwaiti students at other blacklisted universities, Dr. Al-Sabah replied, "I did what I was asked to do regarding the other universities. Please address that question to the minister
