Consul-General of Thailand Unveils GCC's First Iconic Thai Privilege Spa

Middle East Spa Revenue Opportunities Set to Rival International Markets, Says CEO of BDC Holdings Group
Dubai, UAE: At a lavish Thai themed gala the Consul General of Thailand to Dubai, Pasan Teparak, unveiled the GCC's first Iconic Thai Privilege Spa.

Attending dignitaries at the launch of this milestone development in the region's spa industry included the Consul Generals of Singapore, Japan, Malaysia and the Philippines along with senior executives from the world famous Thai Privilege Spa Company and its franchise partners, the BDC Holdings Group.

"The vast cultural diversity and high standards of living across the GCC has created a strong platform for premium Far Eastern brands, trends and practices to flourish," said KS Ramakrishnan, CEO of BDC Holdings Group.

According to the first UAE spa benchmark report, the total revenue generated from the spa industry in 2007 was worth AED 253 million (approximately US $70 million) with a forecasted 30% growth in the number of spas in Dubai.

Sanghmitra R, Director of BDC Holdings Group added: "Dubai, well positioned as the next major cosmopolitan city, is a prime market for international brands to launch their Middle East operations. Spa revenue opportunities in the Middle East will rival those of developed international market s in the coming years."

Reputed for offering more than just a boutique spa experience, the Thai Privilege Spa outlet in Dubai, boasts fifteen lavish treatment rooms all designed with external and internal Thai architecture. The boutique also encompasses a special VIP wellness suite in addition to a nail and hair spa.

Set to cater to the UAE's affluent female residents, the new boutique will house a team of fifteen masseurs and three executive managers, experts in combining refined ancient and modern massage techniques.

"With our extensive experience across competitive markets supported by a team of top quality therapists, we are confident in achieving a top five market positioning, in the region, within a short period," commented Mrs. Surangrat Chirathivat, CEO of the Thai Privilege Spa Company.

The BDC Holdings group has signed a four year franchise contract with the Thai Privilege Spa Company to open three exclusive privilege outlets in the UAE over the next four years.

Located on Al Wasl Road in Jumeirah, the Thai Privilege Spa is fully operational and open for therapy bookings.
