Dubai Derma 2009 is an annual event that discusses Skin tightening, body contouring and the latest in cosmetic dermatology and more, through a scientific Conference program and multiple cutting edge workshops.  This annual event is devoted to Dermatology, Skin Care, and Skin Lasers & Anti Aging under the motto: "Skin Health is our Concern".

H.E Qadhi Saeed Al Murooshid, Director General - Dubai Health Authority said that "Dubai Derma" is one of the most important and largest conferences in the region.

During the past eight years, Dubai Derma had cultivated a worldwide reputation due to the excellent scientific programs it provides in addition to the distinguished lectures and workshops that introduce interns and junior doctors to  the latest techniques and scientific methods to deal with various skin disease and have the capability to provide better treatment.

Studies in the United States had revealed that there are 7 million Americans spent more than 77 billion dollars on plastic surgeries in 2007. The study also mentioned that men spend 9.6 billion dollars annually on face lifting and hair extensions. In general the number of plastic surgeries accomplished for both genders had tripled during the past three years. More than 200.000 hair plantations, 38.000 lip surgeries and 18.000 belphroplasty surgeries have been accomplished for men during the past three years. Despite the lack of such studies in the Gulf region and the Middle East, but the estimated expenditure on this sector can reach to billions of dollars annually,  particularly after a study revealed that 9 out of 10 women in the Middle East are not satisfied with their outlooks and bodies, and only 2% of the women are confident about their looks and find themselves beautiful.
