Dubai Taxi Continues Intensive Training of Cabdrivers

Dubai (United Arab Emirates): Dubai Taxi AgencyDubai Taxi AgencyLoading... at Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) stressed the utmost importance attached to customer service through exposing new & existing cabdrivers to all-round intensive training courses. The courses, which are modeled after world-class modules, aim to improve the performance of taxi drivers and the level of service they provide to passengers spanning a wide spectrum of community members.

"The Agency is adopting these modules to provide its drivers an exposure to various skills needed to upgrade the level of service rendered to customers in keeping with the tourist profile of the emirate of Dubai and its standing as a premier business and commercial hub in the region" said Ammar bin Tamim, Director of Fleet Drivers Affairs Dep't at Dubai Taxi AgencyDubai Taxi AgencyLoading....

He added: "Drivers undergo several training aspects to orient them about Dubai Taxi AgencyDubai Taxi AgencyLoading... and the vision adopted in realizing its strategic goals and objectives. Training also touches on other perspectives such as the daily tours made by drivers, rules applicable at the Agency, and management of vehicle driving.

"Customer service ranks high in the priority of Dubai Taxi AgencyDubai Taxi AgencyLoading...; which is keen on dispatching cabdrivers to training courses capable of bringing about a track record improvement in the skills of drivers, broadening their knowledge base and empowering them to deliver quality services in a professional manner. The training syllabus provides drivers with the key ingredients of a successful driver in terms of providing safe, comfortable and highly satisfying service to passengers, including special needs persons, ladies, kids and elderly.

"Training on customer service spans several other key training aspects such as the advanced customer service; which in turn comprises several skills, namely: communication, attitude, basic knowledge of English language, customer service and the taxi. This element covers vehicle cleaning, inspection, air-conditioning, dealing with the onboard systems, customer service, and the driver. This element includes health, morals, courteous attitude towards road users, service and customer. This aspect comprises greeting passengers, consenting to the destination, good attitude towards passengers, assisting passengers in handling luggage, expressing attention to passenger comfort and safety, avoiding passenger disturbance or infuriation (particularly ladies), and keeping lost & found items and handing them over to the police. It also covers other aspects such as the special customer service to customers and visitors, compliance with the specified fare as per the meter reading, refunding the change to the passengers, issuing fare receipt, and processing payment through credit cards in addition to customer service by professional drivers" he continued.

Bin Tamim further added: "Dubai Taxi AgencyDubai Taxi AgencyLoading... is keen on honouring its distinguished drivers who take part in training programmes and express enthusiasm & seriousness in learning various skills". He commended their roles in serving customers and hailed the job done by both employees and drivers in contributing to the enhancement of RTA business and image in the community. He stressed the role of cabdrivers as ambassadors of the RTA to the public in view of their constant interaction & touch with the public; a position which warrants wise, patient and respectful dealing under all conditions and with various segments of the community. He concluded: "The Agency is always keen to verify the competency of drivers before deploying them to their daily tasks; a step needed to maintain the safety of passengers as well as other road users".
