DM improves building licensing procedures

The Buildings Department in Dubai MunicipalityDubai MunicipalityLoading... has issued a circular to all the general consultancy offices in the emirate of Dubai informing them about improving work procedures in its Building Licensing Section.

Khalid Mohammed Saleh, Director of Buildings Department said the circular is aimed at enhancing the quality of work and reducing the materials necessary for accomplishing the license transactions.

"This is being done by organizing and developing the work procedures. The department has approved a set of developmental procedures," he said.

As regards the self verification by the engineering offices of the residential villa plans it was decided that the engineering office should do it so as per a set of clauses explained in the contract form it signs and attaches along with the licensing transaction. The engineering office shall be responsible for the validity of the information in the contract.

As regards allotting Counter No. 13 at the Customer Service Centre in the Municipality's main building for an employee from Dubai Industrial City for offering its services people can approach this counter for all matters related to building licensing and engineering supervision.

As for developing the procedures for approving the main information form with the envelop, in which the plans are submitted for licenses, the consultancy offices should stick the form outside the envelop after filling up the blue columns in it clearly typing the matter. No changes can be made on the approved form and the approved colour should be used according to the type of building.
