Epson launches new CD/DVD production system that allows data burning and photo printing in one fully automated process

Press Release

31 December 2008
Discproducer PP-100's individual ink cartridge technology promises low cost maintenance and ink efficiency

EpsonEpsonLoading... has announced the Middle East launch of the Discproducer PP-100, a new CD/DVD production system that produces reliable data burning and realistic photo printing in one single fully automated process with just a touch of a button. The new production system also introduces a separate ink cartridge system that makes for low cost maintenance and ink efficiency, promising 1,000 print jobs and more without the need to change the ink.

The Discproducer PP-100 addresses the two major requirements for professional production; high reliability and superb print quality. With this in mind, EpsonEpsonLoading... has combined the core technologies of high-end industrial robots and 6-colour inkjet printers to come up with a cost-efficient unit that can address the need for quantity and quality.

The large separate ink cartridge system ensures high-quality colour prints of more than 1,000 CDs or DVDs without even needing to replace the ink. This is made possible by the Discproducer PP-100's integrated sensors that are designed to monitor the ink levels of the six separate ink cartridges. This enables a precise pre-job evaluation of the cartridges' printing capacity protecting the customer from running the machine without ink and avoiding production wastage and unnecessary costs.

The new CD/DVD production system is as easy to use as a common office printer. Operated through front feed, it can easily be placed on a shelf or stacked on top of another unit. With a case width of 37.7 centimeters, the Discproducer PP-100 is considered to be the smallest in its class. It also has a fully enclosed casing that does not need to be opened to separate or remove CDs and DVDs; a robot arm inside the unit will place the media into a separate output box.

The Discproducer PP-100 can duplicate 100 CDs or DVDs with one touch of a button and can, depending on data volume, burn up to 30 and print up to 45 units per hour. The patented AcuGrip grip mechanism guarantees easy and smooth handling of the media and CD/DVD drives, ensuring that only one medium is transported and inserted into the drives.

Khalil El Dalu, General Manager, Epson Middle EastEpson Middle EastLoading..., said, "EpsonEpsonLoading...'s Discproducer PP-100 is a powerful yet cost efficient unit that gives users the advantage of high quantity with high quality. With the launch of Discproducer PP-100 in the CD/DVD publishing market, we are well positioned to introduce more products in this category to underscore our continuing commitment of providing top quality products for different market segments."
