has awarded an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract on Das Island worth US$21 million to MetitoMetito

's oil from their offshore fields and for liquefied natural gas produced by the Abu Dhabi Gas Liquefaction Company (ADGAS)Abu Dhabi Gas Liquefaction Company (ADGAS)
, both of which are part of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company, ADNOC. Being an oil hub, companies operating on Das Island face many challenges in adhering to the strict health and safety standards set by ADMA OPCOADMA OPCO

The project will require the carrying out of detailed design, engineering, procurement, installation, construction, pre-commissioning and commissioning services for Das Island using reverse osmosis (RO) technology and a demineralisation unit to provide boiler feed water. The new water treatment plant will replace the existing facilities that have been in operation for the last 25 years.
"This project highlights the continued commitment of MetitoMetito
in carrying out major EPC contracts with high profile clients and supplying water wherever it is needed" said Omar Al Zoubi, General Manager of MetitoMetito

The whole project will house a reverse osmosis plant with a treated water capacity of 600,000 imperial gallons per day and a demineralization plant with a daily capacity of 80,000 imperial gallons. MetitoMetito
will also handle the construction of the electrical substation and water storage tanks to support the plants.
The process works by an intake of raw sea water from the north of Das Island which contains 55,000 mg/l of total dissolved solids and treated by reverse osmosis technology to potable water containing Total Dissolved Solids of 300mg/l.
