Municipalities' 2008 budget up to $1.05b |

BAGHDAD: The Iraqi cabinet has approved a supplementary budget of $245 million U.S. dollars for the Ministry of Municipalities and Public Works, bringing up its total budget for the current year to $1.05 billion U.S. dollars.
"Earlier, the cabinet approved another supplementary budget of 400 billion Iraqi dinars (1 U.S. dollar = 1,118 Iraqi dinars) for the ministry," the Iraqi minister of municipalities and public works, Riyadh Ghareeb, told Aswat al-Iraq.
"This is the largest budget ever for an Iraqi ministry," the minister noted.
The ministry has developed a massive plan for the implementation of 28 water projects, 27 sewage projects and 10 construction planning projects, Ghareeb added.
