Western Region Municipality Announce Plans To Expand State-Of-The-Art Integrated Government Service Centers |

The Municipality Unveils Designs and Services for New Centers Slated for Mirfa, Ghayathi, Silaa and Liwa Abu Dhabi, November 25th 2008: The Western Region Municipality (WRM) announced today that it has signed a deal to construct four more of the customer orientated government integrated service centers in Mirfa, Ghayathi, Silaa and Liwa by the beginning of 2010.
Mirfa's soon to be built TAMM centre was unveiled today in a video presentation by the municipality at the Mirfa Hotel showcasing its unique new design and spectacular interior layout to build on functionality of the other centers in operation. Silaa and Ghayathi have centers currently operating in temporary facilities. TAMM, which means 'done' in Arabic, is part of the Western Region Municipality strategy which aims initiate a new era of change.
These new centers are to enhance the accessibility of government services offered from the current 67% to 100% by beginning of 2010. Hamood Humaid Al Mansouri, General Manager of the Western Region Municipality said: "As the Western Region population grows it is essential for the municipality to plan ahead to maintain the advancement in how we service the public and build on the milestones achieved. The municipality stays committed to applying the best standards and practices today and tomorrow as the region embarks on the next phase of infrastructural development and efficiency in public service is paramount to our future success."
The extensive plans and significant budget of over 200 million AED allotted behind building the four TAMM centers will continue to bring together a wide range of state-of-the-art government services. Essential service-providers or partners such as EtisalatEtisalat
and the National Bank of Abu DhabiNational Bank of Abu Dhabi
will continue to operate within the new centers amongst further service partners in development to be announced at a later date.
"The new advanced designs of the centers are enhanced with the visitors to the centers top of mind in the design and the overall functionality of the facilities. Customers will be greeted by a stylish and contemporary centre with advanced technology and customer-orientated architecture that captures the essence and cultural characteristics of the region," stated Tamara of Architech firm.
"Announcing these new centers clearly is a positive and significant milestone; it demonstrates the successes since the first opening in Madinat Zayed. Our pledge is to surpass our own expectations and by embracing a modern and progressive approach towards excellence we know we can meet and exceed the expectations of the people of the Western Region," said Khalifa Al Mansoori, Executive Director - City Area Services Sector.
During the last three years TAMM centers have surpassed many milestones and notably have set some new benchmarks for the upcoming facilities:
- TAMM currently services 47% of the land mass area of the UAE
- 100% of all TAMM direct employees are UAE Nationals (Local)
- Over 20 government sector partners at TAMM center in Madina Zayed
- In 2007 the total number of transactions in all 4 TAMM centers reached over 100,000
- During the first ten months (JAN - OCT 2008), TAMM at Madinat Zayed completed over 82,000 transaction
The forecast for the total number of transactions in all four TAMM centers for 2008 was at 200,000, and the actual total for all four centers up till October 2008 reached over 177,000 transactions.

The Municipal office located in Madinat Zayed, west of Abu Dhabi city, was established in May 2006 under H.H Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed AL Nahyan. Under the umbrella of the newly formed Department of Municipal Affairs, the Western Region Municipality offers services to Madinat Zayed, Mirfa, Liwa, Sila, Ghayathi and Dalma.
