NEC Computers throws down the portable business PC gauntlet with the Quovio TCM380 |
|
Thin client offers the perfect balance between mobility, security and ease of use Middle East,- NEC Computers, a subsidiary of NEC Corp., strengthens its presence in the virtualisation and thin client market and announces the availability of the TCM380, a new portable thin client. This enables the benefits of the thin client to be extended to mobile users within companies and to meet their needs in terms of data security.
Shipped with Windows XP embedded and including the VPNl client, the Quovio TCM380 operates in a centralised (Citrix ICA, Microsoft RDP) or virtualised (VDI) environment, and can be managed remotely using the NEC Client Manager Administration tool, which is both user-friendly and easy to use.
Compatibility with 802.11b/g/n wireless networks and 3G/GPRS (optional), and autonomy of more than 8 hours ensures unlimited mobility. Fitted with a large 15.4'' screen, an integrated number pad and a chip card reader, the TCM380 is easy to use anywhere, any time.
"We are convinced that the Quovio TCM380 will perfectly satisfy mobile users with its excellent autonomy, its comfort in use and its high security in the event of software attacks or the loss or theft of the portable thin client", declares Marion Gravot, Thin Client Manager at NEC Computers.
NEC Computers' Quovio thin client range is also economical, since their energy efficiency is 25% higher than traditional PCs. The Quovio TCM380 completes the desktop thin client (Quovio D180 and D380) and portable (TCM270) ranges, distributed by Tracor Europe.
NEC Computers' portable thin clients perfectly meet the needs of the hospital sector by facilitating the consultation of medical records alongside patients, as well as education, with teachers holding mobile classes within their establishment.
The full range of NEC Computers thin clients is available on its website:
