DEWA initiates 'Mission Green Earth: Stand Up and Take Action 2008' campaign

organized on Sunday (19 October, 2008) the "Mission Green Earth: Stand Up and Take Action 2008'" campaign as part of a global initiative held between the 17th until the 19th of October 2008. The event got an overwhelming response from DEWADEWA
's employees as a result of the mobilisation efforts by the organizing committee as part of the initiative which belongs to UNMC, a United Nation entity that advocates social development by promoting a better quality of life for all people. Eng. Amal Koshak, Manager of Investors Services at DEWADEWA
's Customer Relations Department General Coordinator, welcomed the gathering and said: "We will ask you to stand up to support the war against poverty for a better world with a sustainable environment for the better of tomorrow for our sons and grand sons. We will join millions of people in more than 100 countries in this stand up to remind the wide array of leaders in the world by their promises to achieve the overall objective which should be attained by 2015." "All nations of the world have joined forces to campaign for a greener world which will stay a dream if we don't stand up and participate to achieve a better world with a greener environment."
The moderator of the event said: "Please stand up to say no to poverty and to support a sustainable environment. We, the family of the world, commit ourselves to being proud of our beautiful planet through protecting our natural resources. Also, we commit ourselves to take actions that will attain positive results in our house, office, surroundings and society."
The words of the moderator were repeated by the public to indicate their support. These words are expected to be translated into action through better awareness of the environment and further interaction with worldwide campaigns and rationalization of water and electricity consumption as well as planting trees that use less natural resources such as water.
The participants thanked HRH Princess Haya Bint Al Hussein, Wife of HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al
Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of UAE, Ruler of Dubai for supporting the campaign.
