Kaspersky Labs to set up office in Dubai

, an international information security software company based in Russia, has revealed plans to set up an office in Dubai."There has recently been an increased focus on security in the region, especially in the banking industry," said Costin Raiu, an anti-virus expert at the software company. "We have seen incidents in Romania and Western Europe and the threats have kept growing, not only in the banking sector but also in the corporate sector."
The Dubai office is scheduled to open by the end of the year.
Raiu said recent security cases of fraud in the UAE had involved companies using pirated software.
"Customers should prioritise investment in security even during the global financial crisis. Security is like food, it cannot be neglected. Other IT companies will definitely face problems during this crisis but not IT security companies."
