Bahrain: CBB issues new notes |

The Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB)Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB)
issued new currency notes and coins worth BD11.9 million, in the run-up to Eid Al Fitr; which have been delivered to commercial banks in the Kingdom.The new notes and coins are being issued to meet the increased demand for new currency. The new notes amount to BD11.5 million, while the value of the freshly minted coins is BD450,045. It is expected that new currency being issued will rise to BD26.9 million by the end of this holy month.
Of the new currency being issued, BD6 million is in 20 Dinar denominations, BD1.250 is of 5 Dinar denominations, BD2.8 million of the 1 Dinar note denomination and BD1.4 million in the half dinar denomination. Of the new notes, BD11 million are being released in BD20 denomination; BD3.5 million in BD10 denomination; BD1.75 million in BD5 denomination; BD1.60 million in BD1 denomination; and BD1.15 million in BD half denomination.
Of the coins, BD329,600 worth of coins are being released in 100 fils denomination; BD74,500 in 50 fils denomination; BD31500 in 25 fils denomination; BD10,320 in 10 fils denomination; and BD4,125 in 5 fils denomination.
