NETGEAR appoints Prologix as newest value-added reseller in the UAE |
|

Company strengthens local distribution network to capitalise on booming SMB market NETGEAR, a worldwide provider of technologically advanced and branded networking products, has appointed Prologix as a value-added reseller (VAR) in the UAE, with aims to expand its reach into the country's burgeoning SMB market. The company's partnership with one of the biggest VAR's in the country is set to bolster its local distribution network amidst the booming demand for top-grade networking solutions in the UAE, where the SMB market is projected to reach USD 10 billion by 2009. The agreement between the two companies has also been fuelled by Prologix' strong relationship with Avaya Inc., which NETGEAR aims to leverage to further strengthen its own global partnership with the leading telecommunications company by supporting Avaya's advanced business-class internet telephony solution for the SMB market in the Middle East.
NETGEAR's decision to entrust Prologix with the local distribution of its switches and VPN Firewall Routers in the UAE was based on the company's expertise in offering total network, telecommunication and security solutions through its technical team. As the key reseller for AVAYA Quick Edition, the company also specialises in initiating contact and follow-ups with customers, and providing superior after sales services. In addition, Prologix has also proven its strength in structured cabling for corporate offices and for commercial towers - an opportunity, which NETGEAR is looking into as part of its efforts to diversify and penetrate other potential-laden markets.
"The SMB market is the fastest growing segment in the Middle East in terms of technology adoption, and our aim is to tap into the booming market not only by enhancing our current range of products but also through our strategic partnerships with leading resellers in rapidly growing markets such as the UAE," said Omar Lutfi Azzawi, SMB Channel Manager NETGEAR Middle East. "In our search for powerful channel partners to enhance our presence in the UAE and across Middle East, we expect our partnership with Prologix to yield favourable results and lead to both our growth and expansion within the market."
The demand for IP telephony in the Middle East has seen considerable growth over the years, as more and more small and mid-level organizations appreciate the benefits of IP-based solutions for their business communications. With this new partnership agreement, NETGEAR will be able to address the unique demands of its existing customers and new customers from the SMB market. NETGEAR Smart Switches with Power over Ethernet (PoE) capability, can remotely power Avaya Quick Edition phones and VPN Firewalls that can enable remote teleworkers. Additionally, PoE switches ensures robust data protection and power continuity with the support of a UPS system in cases of power interruption, while built-in quality of service capabilities and a virtual local area network (VLAN) maintains good call quality even during times of data traffic congestion.
"NETGEAR is known to provide the world's best networking and storage products for the SMB sector, and we believe our strong infrastructure will sufficiently support our aim to further penetrate into the market. Our commitment is to deliver our best-of-breed customer support, which is highly essential in dealing with this segment, which is our high value contribution to this partnership. Through our certified and experienced people in networking, security and storage products, technical training and presales support, our focus is to enhance the customer experience and maximize NETGEAR's business in the UAE," concluded Jai Mulani, Director - Sales & Solutions, Prologix.
Specialising in providing end-to-end IT infrastructure solutions, Prologix delivers a diverse range of technology-driven solutions in structured cabling, IP telephony, CCTV and security, web portal and .NET applications, data centre and storage, disaster recovery and all kind of peripherals, among others. Some of its customers within the enterprise and SMB markets are RAK Airport and RAK Airways, Samsung, DHL, Al Fajer Properties, Al Maya Group, Lals Group, EC Harris, Dun and Bradstreet, Al Fara'a Properties and Rivoli Group.
Prologix joins NETGEAR's extensive roster of value added partners, which includes Ashley in the UAE, Al Rammah IT Distribution in Saudi Arabia, Matrix Computer System (MCS) in Qatar, BiOnline in Bahrain, Teledata in Lebanon and Al-Naba'a in Iraq. In addition to its top-of-the-line product ranges, NETGEAR has also built a strong repute in the industry through its Channel Partner Program, which rewards its distribution partners with a rich array of benefits as an appreciation for their commitment to NETGEAR and a motivation for them to continue their prolific association with the company.
