NHI, Bank Sohar sign agreement for student loan facility

MUSCAT -- The National Hospitality Institute (NHI)National Hospitality Institute (NHI)Loading... and Bank SoharBank SoharLoading... have signed an agreement enabling students to avail the bank's Al Mumayaz educational loan facility for long-term courses offered at the institute, it was recently announced at a press meet held at NHINHILoading..., in Wadi Kabir. Heading a panel made up of senior Bank SoharBank SoharLoading... and NHINHILoading... representatives were Robert MacLean, Principal of NHINHILoading... and Nani Javeri, CEO, Bank SoharBank SoharLoading.... They outlined what the new initiative hopes to achieve and why they are working together to provide this new finance facility for prospective NHINHILoading... students.

It was noted, for potential students who are unable to find sponsorship and who do not have the financial means to meet course fees, they can now easily take advantage of the new scheme and enroll for the course that will help shape their future career. Through Bank SoharBank SoharLoading... Al Mumayaz Educational Services, student applicants are able to find tailor-made solutions for their educational ambitions.

The scheme is open to all young Omani students pursuing higher education and for Omani employees seeking to advance their educational qualifications for better career prospects. A special Al Mumayaz finance package ensures that all study related expenses, such as college fees, accommodation and travel expenses are covered. A soft repayment schedule with interest starting at 6.75 per cent per annum during the study period, variable loan limits, easy repayment options and payment of only 50 per cent interest amount during the study period, are designed to lessen the students financial burden, both during the period of study and after.

The initiative allows prospective NHINHILoading... students to select any of the institutes numerous courses in Hospitality Management and Hospitality Services, as well as for courses offered at their Gulf Chef School, Gulf Travel School, Beauty School and in Food Safety Training. Their latest 2-year International Management Diploma, requiring a student investment of RO 3,500, is internationally accredited and recognised and allows for credit transfer onto a Bachelors Degree at Johnson & Wales University, US, Schiller International University, the US and Salford University, the UK.

This diploma course is offered by NHINHILoading... in association with the American Hotel and Lodging Association (AHLA). Its intensive 2-year duration includes 12 course modules with 18 months of class-work and 6 months internship. NHINHILoading... is the pioneering institute for student training and education in the Sultanate's hospitality industry and they have been instrumental in providing many of this sector's requirements for well-trained and qualified staff. Signifying their high rate of success, today many ex-NHINHILoading... students can be found in senior supervisory positions in some of the country's leading hotels and restaurants and in other areas of the industry. Some have even gone on to open up their own businesses and establishments.

Bank SoharBank SoharLoading..., who began operations here a year and a half ago, has been active in providing beneficial services to the community in which they operate. This is inline with their committed role of being a supportive and responsible corporate citizen, which plays its part in communal development outside of its scope in finance and banking.
