Jumeirah joins hands with Expedia

Dubai: Expedia, a global online travel company, on Tuesday said it had signed a long-term global agreement with the Dubai-based Jumeirah GroupJumeirah Group
, a hospitality management company. "We have ambitious expansion plans to grow our global portfolio of luxury hotels and resorts with new projects underway in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Aqaba, Doha, Phuket, Shanghai, Mallorca, London, Argentina and elsewhere around the world," said Apo Demirtas, Jumeirah GroupJumeirah Group
chief sales and marketing officer.
"Expedia is an ideal partner to help us reach millions of travellers worldwide and enhance our global distribution strategy."
Global access
The agreement provides Jumeirah GroupJumeirah Group
with access to Expedia's global marketplace, its online travel marketing and distribution expertise, and targeted merchandising opportunities to reach travellers throughout Europe, Asia and North America.

and Expedia, as we continue to expand our global footprints, respectively," said Murad Hajeebhoy, Expedia EMEA vice-president of marketing management. "JumeirahJumeirah
and Expedia share a commitment to delivering travellers excellent service, and we're pleased to help JumeirahJumeirah
meet its overall business objectives," he said.
JumeirahJumeirah
hotels would be able to access Expedia's global online travel marketplace through Expedia Connect, Expedia's industry direct connection solution for chain hotels. In turn, Expedia customers would be able to book accommodation at Jumeirah GroupJumeirah Group
's luxurious hotels and resorts worldwide, including the well-known JumeirahJumeirah
Essex House in New York, and the world's most luxurious hotel, the Burj Al Arab in Dubai. Expedia assists business and leisure travellers with the tools and information they require in order to research, plan, book and experience travel, in an easier way.
Its companies operate more than 60 global points of sale in over 40 countries.
