TECOMTECOM
Seminar Highlights Dubai's Offerings as Regional Trade and Financial Hub Dubai/Shenzhen: 04 August, 2008 - TECOMTECOM
, a member of Dubai Holding, today announced a number of Shenzhen-based ICT, home appliances and logistics companies have expressed strong interest to base their regional operations in Dubai. The Chinese companies conveyed their interest during a seminar hosted by TECOMTECOM
in Shenzhen, a major city in the southern Guangdong province and a key manufacturing base.
The seminar drew the participation of about 80 companies, and provided a thorough understanding of Dubai's business environment as a regional trade and financial hub. The event was attended by Chinese companies such as the embedded products supplier EVOC Intelligent Technology Co. Ltd and consumer electronics goods maker Konka Group.
While Dubai's strategic location, strong economy and tax-free business environment found high favour with the Chinese majors, TECOMTECOM
's unique one-stop-shop service, providing business partners with commercial, legal and technical support solutions, were earmarked as significant advantages for international companies looking to establish a footprint in the region.
Fareed Abdulrahman, Executive Director of TECOM International, said: "There is a vast market in the Far East Asia that has shown a continual interest in our activities which we want to extend our outreach to. TECOMTECOM
's development of business clusters in Dubai, such as Dubai Internet City, Dubai Media City and Dubai Knowledge Village, has been a key driving force of Dubai's success as the preferred location for international companies to set up their Middle Eastern (and regional) operations in. We are certain that with the enthusiasm that we received during the seminar we will be able to assist many Chinese companies to achieve their expansion vision to the Middle East."
The TECOMTECOM
seminar was introduced by Zhang Li Ren, Vice-Director General of Shenzhen Trade and Industry Bureau and also included the Business Development and Culture Exchange Manager of Dragon Mart, Rinsho Shin, who shared the opportunities that Dubai holds as a destination.
Chen GuoFu, Regional Sales Director of Shenzhen EVOC Intelligent Technology Co. Ltd, said: "The seminar has catalysed our intention to further develop our business in the Middle East region. Leveraging TECOMTECOM
's resources, our next move will be to set up a regional office in Dubai."
TECOMTECOM
has consistently notched remarkable success for its business parks, with the model being replicated by other countries internationally and in the Middle East. A number of countries beyond the Middle East are in talks with the Dubai Government to establish similar entities for either revitalising or diversifying their economies.
