DOHA - The civil service law has been amended to facilitate salary hikes for government employees. According to a local Arabic daily, monthly wages and perks of all government employees, from category 1 to 13, have been raised.
Under-secretaries and assistant under-secretaries are grouped above category 1 and their starting basic salaries have been revised to QR28,000 and QR22,400, respectively.
The pay scale for category 1 employees is from QR16,800 to QR19,600. Besides, social allowances are also admissible.
Salaries of category 2 and 3 employees have been revised to QR12,600 and QR11,200, respectively. The starting salaries for categories 4, 5, 6 and 7 staff members are QR9,100, QR7,700, QR6,300 and QR5,250, respectively.
As for employees falling in categories 8, 9 and 10, the starting pay scales are QR4,550, QR3,990 and QR3,430, respectively, while for categories 11, 12 and 13, the scales are QR2,870, QR2,520 and QR2,100, respectively.
