In response to increase in Kuwait-Turkish trade
Freedom Town, Kuwait, 2 March, 2008 - Jazeera AirwaysJazeera AirwaysLoading... (KSE Ticker: JazeeraJazeeraLoading...), the fastest growing airline in the Middle East, has announced today that it will fly non-stop, three times weekly from Kuwait to Istanbul, Turkey's financial and cultural centre, from March 29.

Jazeera AirwaysJazeera AirwaysLoading... will fly to Istanbul on Thursdays, Saturdays and Mondays, with fares starting from KD 09 on jazeeraairways.com

Jazeera AirwaysJazeera AirwaysLoading...' Chairman and CEO, Marwan Boodai said; "Adding Istanbul to our network was in direct response to the increase in trade and investment between Kuwait and Turkey. For several years we've witnessed a growing wave of Kuwaiti business traffic to Istanbul led by both government institutions and big enterprises, with the likes of Kuwait's Investment Authority, which now has a majority stake in one of the largest shopping center chains in Turkey - Cevahir, and Kuwait Finance House, which has a majority stake in Kuveyt-Turk Bank - one of the largest Islamic banks in Turkey, in addition to National Bank of Kuwait, which acquired a 40% share in the Turkish Bank in 2007. All of these initiatives and more have created unprecedented demand for flights to Turkey."

"Yet, despite the increase in trade and investment activities between Kuwait and Turkey, the route is still relatively undersupplied. We expect that our added capacity will work to boost traffic between the two cities, as with our previous successes in growing Sharm El Sheikh route traffic in 2007 by 160% and Alexandria by 50%."

Jazeera AirwaysJazeera AirwaysLoading... has built its track record of growing routes beyond historical trends through market stimulation, low fares, and an easy booking process hosted on jazeeraairways.com.

In addition to its appeal as a business hub, Istanbul is a major attraction for tourism. It sits at the crossroads between East and West and is the world's only city that spans two continents. Through its extensive history as a cradle of civilization, the city has been left a rich legacy of ancient buildings and monuments. Travellers can enjoy an authentic Turkish experience in the city, whether relaxing overlooking the mighty Bosporus Strait, exploring early ruins and settlements, or discovering the places of worship on the city's seven hills.

Jazeera AirwaysJazeera AirwaysLoading... currently operates a fleet of six A320s - all fitted with the airlines' signature leather seats, and will increase its fleet size to 40 by 2014. The airline now flies 26 non-stop routes to destinations throughout the Middle East, North Africa, Europe, Iran and the Maldives from hubs in Kuwait and Dubai.
