Visitors Rush to GITEX Shopper 2007

Dubai responds in large numbers to exciting offers, promotions and surprise prizes, and much more!
United Arab Emirates, 9th of September 2007 - GITEX Shopper 2007, the Gulf's leading technology retail platform, is currently taking place in an excitement-charged atmosphere at Airport Expo Dubai. Thousands of people within the first three days from across the region, have already been through the GITEX Shopper experience. GITEX Shopper 2007 already promises more exciting than any of its predecessors with a lot more to come. The response to the show has already strong, and with over 170 vendors, distributors and resellers to outdo each other. A host of new offers, competitions and giveaways have been unveiled at this event with the consumer availing some of the best deals in the Middle East.

Every sector of consumer electronics, from laptops to PCs, cameras to gaming and mobiles to office automation, have registered highly impressive sales figures so far. "The first day was good, the second day was even better" said Mr. Ganesh Iyer, CFO of Cellucom. "We are expecting the remaining days to be even better" he added. New product launches have also added to the flavour of this year's show. "This is our first year at GITEX Shopper, and we are very pleased with the quality of the crowd and with the overall experience. We launched Xbox 360 elite and we have had a tremendous response" said Mr. Aman Angar of Microsoft. Likewise, other first timers have also struck it rich at GITEX Shopper 2007. "This is our first year and the response has been tremendous" said Mr. Salim MA of Lulu Hypermarket. "We have some of the best offers in the show, and our stand has been tremendously active" he said.
"The response for the promotion we are running with Samsung is very positive. Visitors are having a fabulous time bidding for Samsung 32 inch LCD TVs, digital cameras, mobile phones and MP3s. we had an instance of a Mr. Aldrin bidding successfully for a Samsung 23 inch TV for just AED 260. The crowds seem very happy and we expect a lot more people to come in over the remaining days!" said Mr. Llewellyn Couto, Marketing Manager and Communications at Sharaf DG.
What has made GITEX Shopper 2007 all the more exciting is the fact that this year's event has some never-before seen promotions, offers, prizes and lucky draws. Some of the prizes in GITEX Shopper's draws and scratch-and-win competitions include digital cameras, mobile phones, X-boxes and home theatre systems. The grand prize of the GITEX Shopper Mega Draw is a Peugeot 207!
Mr Efren, a Philipino national, who walked off with a brand new X-box at a scratch-and-win competition, said "I was planning on getting my son an X-box for his birthday next month, but looks like his birthday will be special this year thanks to this free gift! All these promotions really add a nice feeling to being at GITEX Shopper!" said the happy father.
Exhibitors at GITEX Shopper are known to save the best for last, so rest assured the remaining days until the 12th of September will be even more super-charged with excitement!
GITEX Shopper 2007 is open from 11am to 10pm daily at Airport Expo Dubai.
