Dubai - 17 June, 2007: A dedicated "Automobile City" spreading over more than one million square feet, to be established by Al Nabooda AutomobilesAl Nabooda AutomobilesLoading... for its Audi, Porsche and Volkswagen cars, will become operational by 2009 at Dubai Industrial CityDubai Industrial CityLoading..., the emirate's leading industrial destination that offers a one-stop solution for companies.

Rashed Al Ansari, CEO of Dubai Industrial CityDubai Industrial CityLoading..., a member of Tatweer, signed the agreement to set up the "Automotive City" with Khalid Khalifa Al Nabooda, Managing Director of Khalifa Juma Al Nabooda Group of companies and the dealers of Audi, Porsche and Volkswagen in Dubai and the Northern Emirates.

Rashed Al Ansari said: "The new centre will become operational in 2009 in our automotive zone at Dubai Industrial CityDubai Industrial CityLoading... which will be the hub for the automotive industry in the UAE. The set up of the facility and the service provided from our end will ensure that we will meet the high quality standards required by such famous marquees and contribute towards supporting their business."

K. Rajaram, CEO of Al Nabooda AutomobilesAl Nabooda AutomobilesLoading... explained that his company decided to set up base in Dubai Industrial CityDubai Industrial CityLoading... "as it offers a dedicated automobile zone that meets with our operational needs."

"Within the completed centre, Audi, Porsche and Volkswagen vehicles will be displayed in independent showrooms that comply with the manufacturers' corporate identity and designs."

Rajaram pointed out that the "Automotive City" will include an ultra-modern pre-delivery inspection centre, a fully equipped logistics centre, and a body shop that meets the exacting standards of Porsche, Audi and Volkswagen.

"Test tracks will also combine on-road and off-road sections to offer an opportunity for realistic customer and workshop testing away from traffic congestion," he said.

Dubai Industrial CityDubai Industrial CityLoading... offers a dedicated industrial destination comprising six industrial clusters - food and beverage, base metals, mineral products, chemicals, transport equipment and parts, and machinery and mechanical equipment.
