Al Mawakeb school triumphs at young entrepreneur competition

Awards presented to the AMSI run school by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum
Dubai, UAE - Al Mawakeb SchoolAl Mawakeb School
was recently presented with two accolades at the Mohammed Bin Rashid Awards for Young Business Leaders, which were held at the Dubai International Exhibition Centre on April 23. His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, was present to honour the winners.
Al Mawakeb received top honours twice in the Special Award category: Best Educational Institute in Entrepreneurial Education and Best Young Entrepreneur. Al Mawakeb scooped the first award, which is usually reserved for universities, due to its commitment, enthusiasm and participation in the competition.
The second award was presented to the team 'Real Heroes' from Al Mawakeb SchoolAl Mawakeb School
, Al Garhoud. The project involved creating four storybooks about Sheikh Rashid, Sheikh Maktoum, Sheikh Zayed and Sheikh Mohammed, which were produced in both English and Arabic. The books focused on the men and their lives and explored their role as heroes and role models. Speaking from the conference, Alissar Nasr Soubra, Chief Academic Officer, AMSI, said, "It's an exciting day for Al Mawakeb SchoolsAl Mawakeb Schools
. To be recognised by this establishment is indeed an achievement. We are proud of the students who participated and who put in a great deal of effort." The ceremony, which takes place annually, is organised by the Mohammed bin Rashid Establishment for Young Business Leaders and focuses on real-world business projects developed by students in public and private schools across the region.
Al Mawakeb SchoolsAl Mawakeb Schools
fall under the management of Academia Management Solutions International (AMSI). The company has signed an agreement to provide services to a number of schools in Dubai, with plans to pursue further opportunities in the region and internationally.
Having already formed strategic partnerships with international institutions, including INTEL and Xerox, AMSI aims to boost educational standards in the region and raise the bar in ICT applications.
