It could be the perfect solution for people who cannot stand the sight of their neighbours. High Rise Real Estate, a Dubai-based property developer, has announced plans to construct a Dh6 billion Rotating City.

Covering an area of 10 million square feet, the city, which looks like a spaceport from Star Wars, will consist of more than 20 rotating buildings and 300 revolving, floating and flying villas.

"It will be built on one of the islands in Abu Dhabi. Construction will begin as soon as we get the land," High Rise Chairman Faisal Ali Mousa told Emirates Today.

The project will provide a lifestyle with lots of attractions based on the concept of rotation.

"There will be floating villas that will be set in water to give residents the sensation of being on a boat. Each villa will be built on a floating deck and will be able to rotate in any direction," Mousa said.

Besides, there will be a row of 20 rotating buildings.

"Each apartment will occupy a full floor and will be able to revolve 360 degrees individually. Residents will be able to turn them whenever they want to," Mousa added.

The city will have a five star hotel tower with 300 rooms and a four-star hotel of 350 rooms.

"The Attraction Park will be the highlight of the city and it will consist of an animation box, magic carpet, river adventure, and conference and wedding halls," he said. The Rotating City had been designed by Dubaibased Dimension Engineering, with High Rise yet to award the initial contracts, Mousa said.

High Rise, which has announced several projects in Dubai, is also developing the Dh7 billion Emirates Flag project in Ras Al Khaimah.
