PS3 launches in the UAE on 22 March 2007

Free Casino Royale on Blu- ray disc for first PS3 registrants
today announced that the PLAYSTATION®3(PS3™) will be launched in the UAE on 22nd March at a recommended retail price of 2499 AED. An expected one million PS3 units will be made available during the initial launch period across the PAL territories of the Middle East, Europe, Africa, and Australasia.
Responding to regional retail and consumer demand, Sony GulfSony Gulf
confirmed that initially only the 60GB model will be available at launch so that consumers can receive the full PS3 experience straight out of the box.

UAE consumers will be able to register for the launch promotion, whereby the purchasers of PLAYSTATION 3 who register on the PLAYSTATION®Network will receive a Blu-ray disc movie of Casino Royale free of charge, starring James Bond newcomer Daniel Craig. Casino Royale has already grossed more than $560 million (US) at the box office worldwide, and has established itself as the most successful Bond film of all time. The movie will showcase the exceptional video quality of Full 1080P High definition movies on Blu-ray discs.

also announced a stellar launch line-up of over 30 game titles for PS3, including eagerly awaited titles published by Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) such as Resistance: Fall of Man™, MotorStorm™, Genji™: Days of the Blade, FORMULA ONE CHAMPIONSHIP EDITION and Ridge Racer™ 7. confirmed that these five SCEE will be available at a recommended retail price in the UAE of 229 AED. An exceptional range of titles in every genre will also be available at launch from the world's leading third party publishers, including Electronic Arts, Activision, Namco Bandai, Sega, Take 2, Ubisoft, Vivendi Universal, and Sony Online Entertainment.
PLAYSTATION 3 is out in the UAE on March 22 2007.
