Acorto signs with Coffee Planet LLC as sole distributor for UAE

Ultimate machine for self-serve gourmet coffee finally arrives in region
Dubai - Coffee Planet LLC, the Middle East's leading coffee solutions company, has signed as the exclusive UAE distributor for the world's leading automated espresso machine Acorto, bringing the uniquely patented fresh milk and ground bean formula to the region for the first time.
Since launching in Seattle, USA in 1990, Acorto has become one of the most widely reputed names in coffee, serving tens of thousands of espresso drinks daily. The arrival of Acorto in the UAE opens up the self-serve gourmet coffee sector to a totally new audience that is both within and outside the catering industry.
"Acorto is the premier coffee brand of its kind and brings a new proposition to coffee operations by providing an efficient, profitable and sustainable beverage unit with only limited outlay," said Matthew Yorke Smith, Director of Operations, Coffee Planet LLC.
"We believe there is a huge gap in the market for the low cost-high volume coffee business. Apart from the distribution of Acorto machines to hotels and catering outlets, our focus is to introduce self-serve kiosks that can be installed into an unlimited variety of foodservice operations such as convenience stores, hospitals, business centres, offices, airports and universities," Yorke Smith said.
According to the Specialty Coffee Association of America, the market for specialty coffee beverages in the US alone is nearly $9billion, while globally estimates reach up to US$18billion.
"Self serve gourmet coffee is a terrific new concept in specialty-coffee retailing," says Mike Pelchar, National Service Manager of Green Mountain Coffee Roasters and Training Committee member of the Specialty Coffee Association of America. "It's a great way to give consumers a real cafe experience without incurring high construction costs."
Some of the world's leading brands operate Acorto machines including Hilton hotels, JW Marriott hotels and Northwest Airlines.
Yorke Smith states: "Acorto's key differentiator is that where other machines may have separate elements, such as refrigeration, Acorto's espresso machines are self-contained providing high-quality gourmet coffee beverages at a fraction of the cost of building and staffing a café."
"This makes it an ideal way for convenience stores, managed food service operations, hotels, and other venues to boost profits from the booming espresso business," Yorke Smith added.
Judy Brandt, Northwest Airlines WorldClubs Director, explained: "We're always looking for ways to pamper our WorldClubs members, and with the Acorto 1000i we can offer café-quality espresso, latte and cappuccino from freshly ground coffee beans and fresh milk, all in a self-serve environment."
Coffee Planet LLC is currently working locally with a number of prominent corporates in the UAE for the installation of machines and kiosks into petrol stations, shopping centres, universities, shops and clubs.

Acorto's popularity derives from its revolutionary approach to the specialty coffee market which broke new ground by incorporating the milk-steaming process with coffee bean grinding and brewing into a single machine.
With the push of a button, fresh whole espresso beans are ground and a perfect espresso shot is extracted, while at the same time fresh cold milk from the on-board refrigerator is steamed and frothed on demand to deliver a perfect latte or cappuccino beverage in less than 45 seconds.
