KPC to Privatize Its Shuaiba Chemical Fertilizers and Polypropylene Plants

Beirut (APD) -The state-owned oil giant Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) intends to privatize its chemical fertilizers and polypropylene plants in the Shuaiba industrial zone in Kuwait, the Kuwaiti-based daily al-Rai al-Aam reported Friday.
The board of directors of KPC reached a final decision on this issue in its meeting on Thursday, the daily said.
This decision requires the final approval of Kuwait's Supreme Petroleum Council which is scheduled to meet in the coming few weeks.
The board meeting discussed the fate of the 750 Kuwaiti engineers and technicians employed in these factories, al-Rai al-Aam said without giving further details. [SN-TS]
