Kuwait e-gate serves 20,000 visitors in 19 days -- Ministry

KUWAIT, Dec 4 (KUNA) -- Kuwaiti-e gate served some 20,000 visitors between November 12 and November 30, said Kuwaiti Minister of Communications and chairman of the ministry's central information technology system Abdulrahman Khalid Al-Ghnaim here Thursday.

The minister told reporters visitors from 85 countries accessed the gate, including the US, UK, Germany, Egypt, UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, and Jordan. He added the number of pages viewed was around 75,500 pages, at an average of 3.9 page per visitor.

He added that 60 percent of the visitors entered the gate directly without using a link from other websites.

Most visited page was the citizens and expatriates page, which served 10.3 percent of all visitors. This page offer access to 26 services from 9 governmental bodies, he pointed out.

He said that the page for the business sector ranked second with 2,405 visitors.

The first stage of the official Kuwaiti e-gate project was launched last October, with the participation of 9 governmental administrations, namely The Ministry of Communications, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Justice, Kuwait Municipality, the Civil Service Commission, Public Authority for Civil Information, the Public Authority for Housing Care, and the Public Authority for Applied Education and Training.
