Education programme for skin care launched |

Dubai: A national school education programme for skin care launched by the Ministry of Education together with Johnson & Johnson's Clean and Clear.
It is a nationwide school-based awareness campaign designed to educate teenage girls about their health and skin care. The goal of this multi-year campaign is to promote optimal skin health and development in teenage girls by educating and encouraging them to adopt healthy eating habits and to develop a skin care routine to keep their skin healthy and free of acne, spots and blackheads.
People of all ethnicities get acne, boys as well as girls. It usually starts at the age of 11, although outbreaks can appear up until the age of 30, and some people suffer from it into their forties and fifties.
Acne and spots are not a health threat, but it can cause significant emotional distress for adolescents - as well as for parents. The negative effects can be felt as low self-esteem, social isolation and loneliness. It is very important to adopt good attitudes and self-confidence strategies to help counter the psychological effects of teenage acne, but treating acne should be every teen or parent's first line of defence.
"The Health Activity Programme is a one of the nationwide campaign designed to educate teens in the different aspects about their health. By adopting healthy eating habits, practicing physical activities and adopting skin care routine." said Ahmad Abdul Rehman, head of students activities department, from Ministry of Education.
The programme will run in 586 schools and aims to educate around 150,000 of teenagers across the country in its first phase.
