Summer training for students kicks off

Dubai: Dubai MunicipalityDubai MunicipalityLoading... has begun this year's summer training programme for students.

The participating students from grade 10 to university have been distributed among various departments and sections of the MunicipalityMunicipalityLoading... where they work as employees throughout the training period lasting until August 6.

The move is part of the MunicipalityMunicipalityLoading...'s policy of encouraging students to utilise their free time in useful community service.

Ahmad Ebrahim Al Zarouni, Head of Human Resources Development Section, said that the activities this year include a number of educational programmes that benefit students.

Al Zarouni said the trainees were distributed in departments depending on their choice and experience. "The MunicipalityMunicipalityLoading... took into account the place of their residence and proximity to areas of training and also employment of family members in the MunicipalityMunicipalityLoading... in order to provide them an environment suitable for work," he said.

He said that the summer training will provide the students with the opportunity to know the services provided by the MunicipalityMunicipalityLoading... to the public as well as some of their rules and regulations. It also gives them the opportunity to get acquainted with the nature and circumstances of work in the MunicipalityMunicipalityLoading....

"Dubai MunicipalityDubai MunicipalityLoading... is one of the largest local government departments that attracts a large number of interns each summer, and it provides them with an optimal work environment during the holidays. This experience comes handy in the future for those wishing to join the MunicipalityMunicipalityLoading... later as priority will be given to the trainees."

The programme includes a stipend of Dh1,000 to Dh2,400 per month depending on their academic level and commitment.
