RAK to host global business meet

Ras Al Khaimah The RAK Investment AuthorityRAK Investment Authority

), the government body responsible for attracting foreign direct investment for the government of Ras Al Khaimah, and Horasis, an international Swiss organisation, will jointly host the inaugural Global Arab Business Meeting in Ras Al Khaimah from September 26- to 27.
The Global Arab Business Meeting aims to be the foremost annual gathering of Arab business leaders and their global counterparts. The meeting will help conceptualise the rise of Arab companies to global eminence. The event is open to CEOs of the world's leading companies.
Speaking at a press conference at the Al Hamra Fort Hotel here yesterday, Dr Khater Massaad, CEO, RakiaRakia
, said: "The Global Arab Business meeting will integrate the top decision-makers from all sectors of Arab and global economies, aimed at finding strategies to expand their operations outside their region and RakiaRakia
is delighted to co-host the Global Arab Business Meeting. The meeting will also be a platform for the business leaders from across the world to exchange their views and understand the business dynamics of the region, especially of Ras Al Khaimah."
Massaad said the UAE and Ras Al Khaimah have solid competitive advantages unmatched in the region to support growth and attract investments. He said that even amid the global financial crisis, there has been a steady increase in the number of companies registered under RakiaRakia
, with around 2,700 companies so far with an estimated investment of $3 billion (Dh11 billion). Dr Frank-Juergen Richter, president, Horasis, said: "The meeting will bring together around 300 CEOs from across the world, including those of Fortune 1000 companies and prominent business leaders from across the Arab region."
