Ramada Downtown Burj achieves 77% occupancy after four months

Dubai The 181-room Ramada Downtown Burj, located at The Residence in Downtown, achieved 77 per cent occupancy last month, in just four months of opening, Walter Knight, Resident Manager, told Gulf News last week.

The hotel is operated by R Hotels, a member of R HoldingR HoldingLoading.... R Hotels is a young but dynamic group and intends to expand in the region's hospitality sector.

R HoldingsR HoldingsLoading..., the property developers and managers that is developing Emirates City in Ajman, has invested Dh400 million in the project. The property overlooks the Burj Boulevard within the Burj Residences neighbourhood and features interior design influenced by local tradition.

Some suites also have balconies with views of the world's largest mall and some of Dubai's most vibrant districts. The property offers 30 studios, 120 one-bedroom suites, 30 two-bedroom business suites and a luxurious penthouse.

"One of the key attractions of the hotel is spectacular views of the Burj Khalifa tower and the surrounding fountain lake, Knight said.

"The location and the complete view of the Burj is one of our USPs [unique selling points]," he said.

Major customers

The hotel's peak rate starts at Dh1,200 for a studio apartment.

"Corporate, leisure and GCC families are our major customers. As the apartments are spacious, the GCC families find it ideal to stay," he said.

The hotel provides guests with a blend of international and traditional cuisine with its all-day dining restaurant, The Orchid, and an extensive snack menu.

Guests can also relax by the pool while soaking up the sun. Several recreational facilities including a badminton court, gym, squash court, swimming pool, electronic golf driving range, a private theatre that can accommodate 20 people and a kids' club are available to guests.
