DOW JONES NEWSWIRES

The Kuwait government has learned that two aircraft carriers are scheduled to arrive in the Persian Gulf and Red Sea in case of a U.S.-Iran war, the Kuwait Times reported on its Web site, citing an unnamed senior official.

The report didn't identify the ships. However, the Jerusalem Post said on its Web site Thursday that they were the USS Theodore Roosevelt and the USS Ronald Reagan.

The Post cited an unidentified defense analyst, and said the U.S. Navy would neither confirm nor deny that carriers were en route.

Kuwait is preparing an emergency plan in case the situation escalates and war breaks out between the U.S. and Iran, the Kuwaiti report said Thursday, citing the official.

Acting Kuwait premier Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah has asked the interior minister and others to hold meetings with different departments to reveal and resolve the country's weaknesses, the Kuwait Times reported.

You can paint Bush the villian if you want. You can say his reasons were flawed. You can't however tell me what I did and saw and the people I helped were in vain.

I love how easily the rest of the world forgets the Iraqi's reaction to the invasion and overthrow of Saddam and his clan. I seem to remember that every man woman and child that wasn't Sunni was in the streets dancing!

it is funny to me that everyone seems to forget Saddams secret police throwing handcuffed blindfolded Iraqis off of two story buildings or how he gassed and killed Iraqis in 1988 in Halabja! Seems much easier to focus on what a villian Bush is. Who cares if Bush plays golf? How about the dead bodies I used to find under bridges in Basra, with drill bit holes in their knees, done at the hand of Sadr's militias under the uniform of Iraqi Police? How is that helping Iraq? What about the squads of men going around Basra beating up young men and women for listening to the wrong music or being in the same park? What about the 100's of Iraqis kidnapped by Iraqi police and booked into jail never to be seen again by their families? How is that helping Iraq. Iraq left to itself was doomed to failure. Is America perfect? Hell no! Do we claim to be? Hell no!

You can say what you want about weapons of mass destruction, you can say what you want about the Bush Administration, you can say what you want about Bush. What you can't do is tell me that Iraqis don't now have a bright future ahead of them. Sooner rather than later the US military will leave Iraq, that will be a good day for everyone involved. When that happens I hope Iraq continues on it's course towards a new and free Iraq! [Report Abuse | Email to a Friend | Reply to this Comment]

Please people wake up !!! by Poor Iraq, A Human, Life - 11-Aug-08
Unfortunately,

You Americans believed in a Joker of Mass Destruction/Distraction namely Bush and you Mr. SSG & your friends unfortunately paid the price for his dam stupid mistakes. When you INVADED IRAQ, you guys didn't find any weapons of Mass Destruction whatsoever. I believe that was the main reason for sending the U.S. army to IRAQ, your administration SIR, DOES NOT give a dam if Saddam was living in a palace and Shiaa people were starving, it is just another Game of power, OIL and politics !!!!

Please people wake up, Watch this

WOW!
John, are you serious? Have you been to Iraq or Kuwait or Iran?

Have you seen the good we have done in Iraq?

Ever been to a school where they had no classes because they were Shiite and the Govt wouldn't share the money so they could have plumbing and fresh water? Ever seen Saddam's 78 palaces? the billions he squandered while innocent Iraqis lived in mud huts in the south? Been to the once beautiful grasslands and seen the damage done when he damned up the water so the Shia could starve?

You ever seen proud Iraqis face mortars and small arms fire to go and vote in a democratic election, voting for more than one person, a list of candidates that THEY the Iraqis put on the ballot?

Well I have, I risked my life and lost friends who gave their life so that Iraq might be free. So that Iraq can make it's own choices about who is in office.

If you have done this also then I applaud you.

If you haven't , then why don't you shut your mouth? [Report Abuse | Email to a Friend | Reply to this Comment]

Made in the U.S.A. - Another disastrous war! by John Brian Shannon, Writer, self-employed - 09-Aug-08
Another disastrous war is being carefully orchestrated by the U.S.A. against Iran, because Iran dares to want the trappings of Western society.

Nuclear power, technology and a strong society. These are the things America does not want other nations to have - especially Muslim nations!

Why? They don't even know why. For some reason known only to them, they secretly hate Islam, the Muslims and other monotheistic groups dedicated to serving God.

Have you noticed that whenever a Muslim nation starts to make some real progress, a concerted effort is launched against that nation by the U.S.A. and the other Western powers it controls?

When some nations choose to stand up to the U.S.A. they end up getting threatened and then bombed back into submission.

Such should not be the case. It is a disgrace that a nation which claims to believe in democracy, seeks to dominate the nations of the world and tries to stifle democratically elected leaders that the U.S.A. does not like.

It seems there is a mental health problem in America. And that mental health problem manifests itself by this attitude, "If they are not like us, then bomb them until they are."

America does NOT believe in Freedom and Democracy. Rather, it believes in nations being run by 'Yes Men' - who will do exactly as U.S. leaders tell them to do.

George Washington - and his friend Voltaire - would be ashamed of the nation they see today.

May God's light illuminate your path.
