Chittagong flights to restart today |

International flights in and out of Chittagong, Bangladesh will resume this evening, according to airline officials.
All flights to and from Shah Amanat Airport had been suspended after a Bangladesh Biman flight from Dubai skidded to a halt off the airport runway on Friday.
Assistant district manager, Bangladesh Biman, Chittagong, G.C. Barua, said all flights except wide-body aircraft had resumed operating yesterday to and from Dhaka.
"International flights will resume from Sunday evening, although we had one flight to Jeddah via Dhaka operating yesterday afternoon," he said.
Witnesses said the aircraft from Dubai caught fire in one of its wings and skidded off the runway while landing. Officials said one of the aircraft's wheels came off while landing. No one was injured.
Bangladesh Biman operates Airbus 310 flights three times a week direct to Chittagong from Dubai on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays. The sector is currently fully booked.
